Our 6th Year of Marriage Anniversary Poem! By Amalia E. Zents to James H. Zents

Just let me tell you my darling how much I truly care,
Even if Heaven and Earth are already well aware,
I think they know together we make a perfect pair;
And it doesn't bother me, when we go out, if people stop and stare!

I think of you no matter what, no matter when, or where;
Whether I'm in bed, or walking the dogs, or in the dentist's chair.
Whether near or far you are, I always see you there;
No matter if you're covered up, or in your underwear!

I wonder if our passion, to the world I should declare;
Should I proclaim my love for you or else not even dare?
I love to walk with you, o'er beaches broad, and bare,
I love your smile, your laugh, your kiss, and your gray-brown hair.

Should anyone want to harm you they had really better beware
Defending your trust and wonderful heart, stands Justice strong and fair,
You make my life worth living, and make me dance on air.
There is no one else on earth I know to whom you can compare.

I hope I never do anything that might our romance impair
Why confine this conscience of mine to be thrust in a dragon's lair?
A priceless thing is pleasant, the roof off we can tear
Our joyful hearts gave us this gift, a love we both can share!!

"Canine Wills," by Amalia (Amy) Zents

“Canine Wills,”
by Amalia (Amy) Zents

“Just went for a walk in the pouring rain
with a broken umbrella that flopped left and right;
Trying to stabilize it was like propping up a sailor,
Drunk and ready to fight.
The dogs came with me on my walk;
their fur got soaking wet;
But they begged me to go out with them,
and therefore out we went!
The Lilac trees and fresh mown grass
smelled fresh and cool and sweet,
The sky was dark, the lamps were lit,
as my wet socks soaked my feet;
Two canine wills prevailed o’er me,
although both dogs got drenched
As we journeyed home,
we all felt glad their urge to pee was quenched!”

"Spring Has Sprung," by Amalia (Amy) Zents

“Spring has Sprung”
by Amy Zents

“Spring has Sprung”
by Amalia (Amy) Zents

“Spring has sprung!
The fun’s begun~
Time to mow,
Time to plant,
Time to work,
Time to pant!
Spring has sprung!
The bugs are back~
The weeds are
Keeping right on track!
Spring has sprung!
So let’s all smile;
The blooming plants
Make it all worthwhile!"

"Universal Trust," by Amalia (Amy) E. Zents

"A Universal Trust,"
by Amy Zents

"Before you reach the end of the trail,
Keep in mind some rules-
To make the world a happier place
You have to "suffer fools."
Everyone can teach you something
Never keep from learning,
Everyone is gifted;
So, keep your love-light burning.
It's possible to mitigate strife,
By being wise and just;
And making folks feel special
Is a universal trust

"His Music," By Amalia E. Zents for James H. Zents

"His Music," by Amalia E. Zents for James H. Zents

His music plays inside my soul.
The beatings of my tender heart
Thump fast;
When I think of my beloved
How we’ve made love last.
In the soft light, when the shades are drawn
and all the daytime noise is gone,
Sometimes my memories remind me,
Of fears I’ve had, and tears I’ve shed,
But I go on.
No one else can comfort me
Like he does,
Helping me find happiness
through his eyes of love.
Helping me take my mind off me,
He guides me out to a world of wonder
With a personal guitar journey
As my ears collide with the bonny notes
I catch the colors of Spring,
His music makes me clap my hands, and dance and laugh and sing
Leading me to better place,
Clasping me in it’s warm embrace.
His music easily helps me find,
A better frame of heart and mind!

There’s So Much to Please,” by Amy Zents

5/20/19

“Don’t like the way the sky looks?
But it wouldn’t be so green,
without the clouds .
We need the water falling to make it pure
We need the trees and the flowers
The birds and bees.
We need the wind and the grass;
It makes the view;
Even the sky blue.
And when the day rolls by
We can see the gardens,
As they thrive in the shade and sun
We can picnic on the lawn
We can climb a hill, cross a bridge
or take a swim.
No need to hurry, no need to be in a
rush
Just watch the water gush into the lake
Get some exercise.
Look at the rocks and water,
The river flowing, always going..
Beauty is on and off the path
Beauty is in our present and past
The dark clouds and the white
The day turns into night.
When you feel overwhelmed
Imagine the majesty of the rainbow
And find shelter on a path to escape,
Take a walk beneath the trees
Contemplate the leaves
Think of horses, feel the breeze
There’s so much to please.”

"Less Hard," by Amalia E. Zents 5/19/13

My latest song called, "Less Hard." Here are the lyrics:
(This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.is original content created by Amalia Zents ©Amalia Zents 2013)

"Even out in the Midwest there is stress
You can’t escape it.
Loneliness and Obesity
Cement sidewalks and bad weather
Traffic, so much traffic
Still goes through town
Putting out smoke
Putting out filth
But the sky seems wider here
The sky seems bluer
The winters are long
The nights grow dark and bleak
When the sidewalks are covered in sleet
Downtown there are bright lights
Same as any other place
There’s a little mall
And everyone wants more
The latest and the best
But, I have dreams, same as you
I close my eyes, and when Spring comes
I plant flowers
I remember the cold, and I’m glad it’s Spring.
I remember the frost on the trees
I think of the big city I grew up in
And I’m a little glad I don’t need to be
Around so many people out here
In the Heartland
Where the sky turns majestic colours
That quicken the pulse
Better here than there
The world is a little less hard
Where you keep your identity
By cleaning your backyard".

"Cupid's dart," a poem by Amalia (Amy) Zents 2/11/2013

Love has come to me
Finally.
As from a distant shore,
After many travails and treacherous paths,
My prince of valor,
My handsome companion,
My dearest friend has arrived,
I am so grateful for my romance!
Finally, the longest stretch I get to live
with the deepest love.
I can only desire longer life so as to be with him.
I have everything because of him.
Complete and in league with his wit and wisdom.
Wisdom only gets stronger as we grow wider.
Sharing the jokes, the smile, the laughs,
And the tears with one another.
A poetic monarch lives with me.
A man of mental prowess beyond my realities
His incredible use of language meets my ears from lofty places of thought.
His words are wrought from years of pain, study, and reflection.
How do I answer? But mostly in jest to many of his queries.
Nevertheless, I must spark some inspiration in his mind, for then we go out on a ledge.
We start designing metaphors like pearl from our kissing lips.
Truly, this wife and husband do not match the old marriage cliches.
Only do they match sometimes, when I forget I am with my best friend ,
and speak a sharp word or two of thoughtless rebuke before I catch myself.
Love is the Bliss, and Sex the Calm.
Our union is blessed with two rambunctious dogs.
Our pets add their fervor and fur to the family fun, and they
wag their tails excitedly when we come home!
Our bed is a haven of comfort where we wind up watching TV and
eating a hot, healthy vegetarian meal.
The joy of making music brings us up to higher and happier places,
More so than the soft ticking of the clock.
"Marriage" is but a name to describe a synthesis of mind and heart.
Two souls with similar goals.
Both knowing each others faults,
but not making each other the target of blame,
but rather the target of Cupid's dart;
Because love is the alchemy that unites a pair of people.
It's a private world that keeps sacred the secrets of two hearts
Two hearts who'll shield each other's confidences with care.
Peace comes from patience.
Peace comes from parlance.
We talk things over to learn the ways of life.
We teach one another how to deal with stress, and how to react to disappointments.
What does one do if one cannot ask a question of one's true love?
One must break through the silence and seek the answer anyways.
It is wiser to be thought of as a fool and speak up, than to appear to be wise,
and a fool full of doubt.
