"The path of the Merry"
A poem in the Style of Shakespeare by Amalia E. (Amy) Zents
To mind the future is to court discontent,
So we must deign to make the present pleasant,
Procrastination is loss for the lazy dreamer,
For life does not ask for a villainous schemer.
Everywhere there is work, but hardly those who will go,
Desire without effort is keen, but always answers no!
So to attend to what is our necessity, it is vital we be free;
Unencumbered, unburdened, and simplified like the sea.
Not held back by useless trappings,
Nor in fear of cruel strappings,
Not in worries weighted down,
Nor concerned by someone's frown.
Not bogged down or cloaked in fear,
But gathering round those to us dear.
So, let us be good and worthy of each day,
For the path of the merry is the only way!
