"The Heart Remembers," by Amalia E. Zents

The heart remembers
His soft dark coat
The way his whiskers
Felt against my cheek;

The heart remembers
The strength of his purr
As he climbed on me
While I tried to sleep.

The heart remembers
The good sport he was
When I dressed him up
Like a fairy queen;

The heart remembers
A cat named Rascal
Sure-footed, daring,
Wise and serene.

"Better Souls," by Amalia E. Zents

"Better Souls"

by Amalia E. Zents (Molly of "Molly and Sonny Boy")

"We can all make the world a better place,

It's not that hard to put a smile on someone's face

You can always lend a child a helping hand

You can always do your part to care for this land.

On our planet there's bloodshed, hatred and death.

How can we really draw a satisfying breath?

The media is partly to blame, no surprise;

They pretend to love beauty. It's all a disguise.

Can we toss out the greed from our savage hearts?

Becoming a good soul happens in fits and starts.

My friend, while bad folks may never drop their sword

Let's remember our earth was made a place for friends,

And not a place for war!"

"I am a victim of my generation," by Amalia E. Zents (April 6, 2011)

i want it all
i want it all
great expectations
i am a victim of my generation
hard driving
hard working
single minded
dreamer
lies were told to me
making me think
i could have everything
i wanted
there is a price to pay
they don’t tell you
how’re you gonna get through now that you're
through school?
every silver lining tests
the clouds you’re into.
a victim of the inside track
taking charge of bouncing back
there’s a diamond stuck somewhere in the muck
of all you have to dig through
they told you you could have it all
everything should be so easy
they told you it would be a ball
but you can’t help acting sleazy
from a dream to reality can be rough
it’s time to wake up
time to be tough
girls the more things change
the more they remain the same
don’t doubt it
a victim of my generation’s gonna get by
gotta get by
bye bye

"My X Factor," by Amalia (Amy) Zents 4/3/12

My X factor is a symbol of hope for today.
My garden of truth is life.
The universal miracle.
The sun shines often and rain helps me grow.

"Stretchmarks of Life," by Amalia E. Zents, March 7, 2012

Stretchmarks of life, By Amalia (Amy) Zents

love and pain
stretchmarks
happiness and sorrow
stretchmarks
Stains and tears
Songs and drinks
nights of love
and days of hate
forgetting to forgive
arriving late
the stretchmarks
are there
stretchmarks left by men
stretchmarks left by party ‘n
Wish I could be young again
the stretchmarks
and the time
these are things left behind
the stretchmarks of life.

“Do you ever wake up feeling poor?” a song created and sung by Amalia (Amy) E. Zents "Do you ever wake up feeling poor?" a song created and sung by the Author Amy Zents

Do you ever wake up feeling poor?” a song created and sung by Amy Zents

Do you ever wake up feeling poor?
when u really have a lot to be thankful for
a body that's well
friends who are swell?
a roof and a home to come home to?
Do you ever recall you were thankful at all
for the many things you have today?
Tho' it may not be funny
there's riches more than money
they're found in your skills and your mind
You will always find love if you serve
those you can
be it family or public or nature
You'll find a fan,
for there is so much need
and you can plant the seed,
to some day yield more riches than ur
heart can hold
So be kind, don't be lost to the truth of all you've
got
if you're truly grateful you've got a lot
So switch off the world that keeps clamoring for you to
cry cuz you arn't a Kardashion
no reason
to reply
So have a great life, then you'll have even more
You'll have friends all around and the finest riches you could ever wish for!

"A busy day," by Amalia Zents

A busy day put away, now it's time for me to hit the hay.
