7 year anniversary poem by Amalia (Amy) Zents, "Here with you!"

I wrote a 7 year anniversary poem for my beloved husband James Zents
called "Here with you."
"A crisp autumn morning
Millions of copper leaves adorn the ground
A copper gift for the seven years we’ve been wed!
2 dogs scamper in the field,
Happy to love life living with you and me;
The sky is a pale clear blue
The dreams of forever
Make it better here with you!

"Once I was dead to the world," a poem by Amalia Zents

"There was a time when I was Dead to the World.
It was so unusual, they said, for such a pretty girl.
Monologing endlessly, I spoke into the air,
Expressing a heart full of woe and pain,
Revealing a heart full of care.
Not noticing the furrowed fields or tiered and fluffy clouds,
Just chatting nervously apace, I worried right out loud.
Every second seemed to me, like heavy iron lead.
Forelorn, adrift, in empty space, I was alive but dead.
People couldn't seem to understand how I could be so blind
I could not see what was outside while locked inside my mind.
No peace had I inside my soul, a bird without a landing;
Yet as the years rolled by I changed, and now I'm understanding.
As I matured and found true love,
my eyes began to see;
A door which once was locked to me,
opened wide and set me free!!!

My Zoo, by Amalia Zents

They say MOM spelled upside down is WOW;
I've never raised children
Yet today I discovered what I'm raising now.
I have two dogs and a nice backyard,
But keeping my garden is getting real hard
The birds come by after the grass is mowed
I've seen some chipmunks, I've seen a toad.
And bouncing by me like a mini-kangaroo
Is just one of the bunnies that makes up my ZOO!!

"Ode to a Slushy Margarita," a poem by Amalia (Amy) Zents

Here is my latest poem.
"Ode to a Slushy Margarita," a poem by Amalia (Amy) Zents

"Sometimes in life
You find there's nothing Sweeter

Then to pour yourself a Slushy Margarita.

The day can sometimes almost beat ya;
But then you can relax,
You've made it 'cross the tracks,
It's time for kicking back,
With a Slushy Margarita!

“The Dentist's Chair,” A new poem by Amy Zents

“The Dentist's Chair,”
A new poem by Amalia (Amy) Zents

"You may hate going there
What am I talkin' about?
The Dentist's Chair.
He has to look into dirty mouths
He pays years of high tuition, his road is rough.

She learns anatomy, physiology too
And then she earns her degree.
What has she gotten herself into?

The patients complain
Their teeth smell rotten;
Their kids all cry
She is soon forgotten.

Let's raise a glass
And thank the Dentist,
For dealing with society's
Densest!"

"A flower is like a friend," by Amalia Zents

"A flower is like a friend," by Amalia Zents

"Beautiful flowers surround me.

A respite found in this bountiful greenary.
At day's end, a flower is like a friend.
The pots, the hanging plants,
The shelves bursting with color and joy.
A celebration of earth's energy
Bringing wonder to every girl and boy!"

Star Trek Fan Poetry "love Ship" by Amalia Zents

My Valentine fan-poem for James Zents.
It can be heard on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETAAu03Ij-I
"Love Ship"
By Amalia Zents ( fan of Star trek)

"Aye, Aye Captain,"
You are my favorite star.
I have found my universe
Here with you.
Glad to journey with you
on our own starship Zents.
A lifelong mission of discovery.
Seeking out our destiny year by year.
Discovering new and exciting things
About life, each other and our future,
Without fear.
Memories are logged daily to record what we've
Learned and where we've been.
We work tirelessly onboard this love ship of ours,
Traveling through different worlds,
And through different spaces;
On voyages safe, and in dangerous places.
Whatever our destination requires,
The adventure continues.
As we stay on course
And try our best,
To boldly go where no couple has gone before!
