Snowpocalypse 2019

Snowpocalypse 2019

By Amalia Zents

I just sat with my dark roots in my red plaid pajamas thinking about spiced rum and tropical places.
Content to have a day off to keep warm and quiet in a place of cozy hygge
relaxation and firelight

11th Anniversary Poem for my husband James

Pictures don't tell half the story of all the love I've shared with you. It's nice to look at pictures, to remember and review. We've had so many ups and downs throughout this past decade, but your patience and understanding has helped me to be brave. I'm so glad I found you, you're like oxygen to me. So necessary and enlivening, I'm glad you care for me. It's good to have somebody who can make me laugh like you, and also someone who's so bright he raises my IQ! Thank you my dear husband for all you give to me. Your constant dedication makes me feel like royalty!"

7 year anniversary poem by Amalia (Amy) Zents, "Here with you!"

I wrote a 7 year anniversary poem for my beloved husband James Zents
called "Here with you."
"A crisp autumn morning
Millions of copper leaves adorn the ground
A copper gift for the seven years we’ve been wed!
2 dogs scamper in the field,
Happy to love life living with you and me;
The sky is a pale clear blue
The dreams of forever
Make it better here with you!

"Once I was dead to the world," a poem by Amalia Zents

"There was a time when I was Dead to the World.
It was so unusual, they said, for such a pretty girl.
Monologing endlessly, I spoke into the air,
Expressing a heart full of woe and pain,
Revealing a heart full of care.
Not noticing the furrowed fields or tiered and fluffy clouds,
Just chatting nervously apace, I worried right out loud.
Every second seemed to me, like heavy iron lead.
Forelorn, adrift, in empty space, I was alive but dead.
People couldn't seem to understand how I could be so blind
I could not see what was outside while locked inside my mind.
No peace had I inside my soul, a bird without a landing;
Yet as the years rolled by I changed, and now I'm understanding.
As I matured and found true love,
my eyes began to see;
A door which once was locked to me,
opened wide and set me free!!!

My Zoo, by Amalia Zents

They say MOM spelled upside down is WOW;
I've never raised children
Yet today I discovered what I'm raising now.
I have two dogs and a nice backyard,
But keeping my garden is getting real hard
The birds come by after the grass is mowed
I've seen some chipmunks, I've seen a toad.
And bouncing by me like a mini-kangaroo
Is just one of the bunnies that makes up my ZOO!!
